Created in 2001 by Missouri S&T Women in Science and Engineering Program (WISE). NTN continues to be administered by the WISE program, with the collaboration of Missouri S&T Student Diversity Programs, Women's Leadership Institute, Society of Women Engineers, National Society of Black Engineers, Society of Hispanic Engineers, and the Career Opportunities Center. This event originated in a corporate advisory board meeting as a "mentoring" concept for Missouri S&T women students to informally interact with alumni and corporate professionals. However, recognizing the similar interests of other minority groups, the event was marketed to all underrepresented student groups. Activities for NTN are coordinated by the student leaders in the minority engineering and women engineering professional societies. This program has grown in popularity with Missouri S&T employers and has taken the shape of a social event held the night before each Missouri S&T career fair. Approximately 100 employers and 200 students attend biannually, cultivating friendships, sponsorships, and career networking. Over 300 students and over 125 corporate recruiters attended the Spring 2008 reception.
