Ms. Matthews is president and co-founder of CBC Distribution and Marketing, Inc (CDM, Inc.) of St. Louis. The company, founded in 1991, is the largest operator of fantasy sports contests in the United States.  Matthews' company writes and designs the software for the fantasy sports games.  The company now has over 100 employees and boasts over 56,000 team owners.  They also branched out into other areas such as building an internet site for the company in 1994, CDM On-Line, and this led to the formation of the Primary Network brand name.  CDM/Primary Network now offers full service internet access in St. Louis, Metro-East and Kansas City regions as well as web site design and development.  (www.primary.net).  The company now also sells cellular phones and pagers in retail environments.

 

Prior to forming CDM, Inc., Matthews was employed by McDonnell Douglas Corp. as a graphics software developer for the Missile Division for seven years, and also co-oped for them for four semesters as a student at UMR.  Matthews husband Brian, ME '81, is a also a co-owner of the company.
