Cecilia Elmore, Director

Cecilia Elmore is the Director for the Women's Leadership Institute.  She has been at Missouri S&T since October 2001, working as a Recruiting Coordinator and Admissions Representative and coordinated the Jackling Institute summer pre-college engineering program, and as coordinator for the Women in Science and Engineering Program.

Cecilia earned her B.S. degree in Engineering Management (Civil Engineering emphasis) from Missouri S&T in 1986.  She has 15 years experience as a fire protection/loss control engineer and underwriter for an insurance company in Overland Park, KS.  She is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Kansas, and holds a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation, and was a national member of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers. At Missouri S&T, she was a letterman on the Lady Miners Basketball and Softball teams, as well as a member of the American Society for Engineering Management, M-Club service organization member and participated in the Women in Engineering Program.  She has accompanied the Missouri S&T International Engineering and Design class to Guatemala as a sponsor, along with students from the Women as Global Leaders class.  Cecilia enjoys traveling with her husband, water skiing, and many outdoor activities.

Cindi Guess, Coordinator

Cindi is the Coordinator for the Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) program.  The WISE program is a key part of the Women's Leadership Institute, as it plays the major role in the recruitment and support of prospective and current female engineering and science students through pre-college programs, scholarships, mentoring programs, and informational programs on campus.  After seeing an interest and a need to get girls involved in engineering and science at a younger age, in 2006 Cindi developed and implemented "It's a Girl Thing" summer camp for 7-8th grade girls. Cindi is also Coordinator of "Summer Solutions" camp for 9-10th grade girls, and the "Lock-In" for 11-12th grade girls.  Cindi previously worked in the Minority Engineering and Science program for 3 years and helped coordinate and implement many of their programs.  She has 20 years of university experience in various departments and roles on the Missouri S&T and UM-St. Louis campuses.

Carol Goff, Senior Secretary

Carol is the senior secretary for the Women's Leadership Institute.  Carol assists in the coordination of program activities for both WLI and WISE,   She has been at Missouri S&T for a little over 4 years and has held positions in both the Admissions and Registrar's Office. Carol is experienced in a variety of customer service, secretarial and education positions. Students will find an open door for help with anything they need at Carol's desk. You will usually find her at one of the ticket booths for football and basketball games as she is an avid sports fan and loves to support and cheer on the students she works with. GO MINERS..!
